Marius specialises in the registration of
trade marks, franchising and copyright law.
He is also actively involved in related
commercial intellectual property matters,
including the licensing of intellectual
property and intellectual property due
diligence reports. Marius is a member of
the Licensing Executive Society (LES) and
has been actively involved in drafting
licensing agreements. In the franchising
field, Marius has advised many of the
leading South African franchisors on their
trade mark portfolios and franchise
agreements. Marius has also presented
lectures on copyright to under- and postgraduate
students at a number of tertiary
education institutions.

Darren Olivier manages brand portfolios
for all clients from startups to large
multinational companies. He advises on all
issues relating to brands, including strategic

Bowman Gilfillan, Darren was a partner at
